Kinsol Trestle Officially Opens
The Cowichan Foundation and the CVRD have completed the year-long project of rebuilding the Kinsol Trestle. The Grand Opening ceremony is set for Thursday, July 28th at 11am.
Shuttle Buses will be running from Shawnigan starting at 10am.
The trestle completion marks a giant leap ahead on the path to constructing southern Vancouver Island's section of the Trans Canada Trail. Visitors will be able to walk, run, bike or ride their horses across the restored Trestle and along the 120-kilometre Cowichan Valley Trail. Seven smaller trestles along the Cowichan Valley Trail route between Kinsol and Lake Cowichan have already been rehabilitated.
The Kinsol Trestle is a critical link for both the Trans Canada Trail and our own Vancouver Island Spine Trail!
