You can rent alpine touring gear at Valhalla Pure in Courtenay. Please let me know if you have any challenges getting gear.

Stay in Courtenay or Cumberland, or drive up early Sunday morning.
Gear List
- 3 layers of upper body clothing – base, insulating and wind/water resistant (Gore-tex)
- 2 layers of lower body – base/insulating and wind/water resistant
- Toque, warm gloves/mitts
- Backcountry skis with metal edges
- Climbing skins
- Boots, thermal socks and poles
- Avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel
- 1.5 litre+ of water
- Lunch and snacks
- Sun glasses and/or goggles
- Face mask if windy
- Blister kit (moleskin, duct tape) if you are prone to blisters or using boots for the first time (rentals)
- Medications (e.g., asthma kit)
